Transfer Artwork from Illustrator to IconWorkshop
Illustrator is a strong place to create the vector master of an icon, but IconWorkshop is the right place to package the shipping deliverables. The Illustrator transfer plug-in connects those two roles cleanly.
Use this workflow when
- The approved icon source already exists as vector artwork.
- You need Windows ICO or macOS ICNS output from that same source.
- You want to keep the Illustrator file as the editable master while IconWorkshop owns the production formats.
Practical sequence
- Finish the vector composition in Illustrator.
- Run the Axialis transfer command.
- Choose the destination project type in IconWorkshop.
- Review the smallest sizes and save the final icon package.
The current product source highlights compatibility up to Adobe 2024 on the feature page, and the 6.96 changelog adds Illustrator 2026 compatibility for the transfer plug-in.
