Create Toolbar Assets with Image Strips

Create Toolbar Assets with Image Strips

Image strips are still common in desktop software and internal tools. IconWorkshop treats the strip as a structured icon asset instead of a single oversized bitmap, which makes maintenance much easier.

Toolbar image strip editing in IconWorkshop

How to work with strips

  1. Open the BMP or PNG strip in IconWorkshop.
  2. Switch to strip mode so each cell becomes an editable icon.
  3. Add, remove, duplicate, or reorder icons as the toolbar evolves.
  4. Export the updated strip once the set is approved.

This is still one of the clearest examples of IconWorkshop solving a production problem that general-purpose drawing tools do not handle well.
